We want everyone to be able to use our website and climb at our gym.
Our website
This website is built with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, in mind, and it’s checked for common accessibility problems each time it’s updated. Pages work with screen readers and keyboards, text can be zoomed, colors are checked for contrast, and photos have descriptions. Automated checks catch only part of the problems, so if something is hard to use, please tell us.
Getting in
The building is on one level. The front entrance has a step-free path from the parking lot, two accessible parking spaces by the door and an automatic door opener. The front desk has a lowered section, and the lobby, pro shop, yoga room, party room and restrooms are all step-free. One restroom has grab bars and room for a wheelchair, and one changing room is large enough for a chair.
Climbing
The bouldering and rope areas have padded floors that a wheelchair can’t cross, and most of our walls are not wheelchair accessible. We run adaptive climbing sessions with an auto-belay and a top-rope line set up for climbers who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility, vision or hearing. Call or email to schedule one, and we’ll match you with a coach who has taught adaptive climbing.
Communication
Staff can write notes, use text messages or gestures, and we teach belay signals as hand signals as well as spoken commands. Class instructions can be given in writing on request.
Sensory needs
Sunday from 8 to 9 am is our low-sensory hour, with music off and the lights up, and no reservation is needed. Weekday mornings from 6 to 9 am are the quietest hours overall. Ear protection is free at the front desk.
Service animals
Service animals are welcome in the lobby, the shop and the rooms. For the climbing floor, ask the front desk and we’ll point out a good spot for your animal while you climb.
