Programs

Climbing for ages 5 to 17

Every class has one coach for every five or six kids, and every coach is CPR certified, background checked and knows the first rule of a kids’ climbing class: it’s supposed to be fun.

Kids move up as they’re ready, not on their birthday. A parent or guardian signs the youth waiver once per child, and it covers a year of classes, parties and open climbing.

  • Little Climbers, ages 5 to 7, Saturday 9 am
  • Youth Climbing Club, ages 8 to 12, Monday and Wednesday 4 pm
  • Teen Bouldering Night, ages 13 to 17, Friday 5:30 pm
  • Youth Team, ages 10 to 17, three practices a week

The party

Parties, from the coach’s side

Hank or one of our hosts greets the kids, fits their shoes and harnesses and walks them through the rules. Then a coach leads games on the low wall, relay races on the boulders and a rope climb for anyone who wants one.

Next comes the party room: tables, plates and a host who cuts the cake and finds every missing sock. When the party ends, we do the cleanup.

  • Waivers online, so check-in takes a minute
  • You bring the cake, we bring the plates
  • Guests can climb with or without rental shoes (no charge)

Youth and party questions

How old do kids need to be?

Kids under 6 climb free with a paying adult on the kids’ wall and the low boulders. Little Climbers starts at 5, Youth Club at 8, Teen Night at 13 and the Youth Team at 10. Rope climbing with a staff belay is open to kids 6 and up.

Can I drop my child off?

In classes, yes: kids 8 and up can be dropped off, and parents stay for Little Climbers. During open climb, kids under 12 need an adult in the building at all times, and under 8 need one on the floor.

What does a birthday party include?

Climb & Cake is two hours for up to 10 kids: an hour of coached climbing on the kids’ wall and a bouldering area, then 45 minutes in the party room with tables, plates and a host to help. You bring the cake and food. Big Send ($545) adds a second coach, up to 15 kids, cheese pizza and drinks. A $100 deposit holds your date.

One signature, good for a year.

Parents sign the youth waiver once per child, from home, before the first class or party.
