Lead climbing, where you clip the rope into protection as you climb, is the next step after top-roping and it feels completely different. Cole Brennan runs this clinic on the second Sunday of every month: clipping positions, taking a controlled lead fall, catching one as the belayer and what to do when you get stuck.
We take only six climbers so each of you gets several lead attempts, with a coach on the ground.
Good to know
You need to be belay-certified here (take Learn the Ropes or a belay test) and comfortable on 5.9 top-rope climbs. $65 includes entry, the clinic and rental gear if you need it.
